Six Years in South Tyrol

On the first day of June, Bolzano City Photo celebrated its sixth birthday.  Many of us start our day with a view of picturesque churches, craggy mountain peaks, steep farmland, fields of flowers and drool-worthy chalets in the environs of the city of Bolzano.  Is it Italian or German?  Bolzano-Cozen or South Tyrol or Alto Adige?  And why does every little town have two names?

Professional photographer Karl Demetz takes the time to inform us about his beautiful part of the Alps, squeezed in to the east of Switzerland, south of Austria and in the northernmost part of Italy.  Karl is generous with his comments on others' blogs and contributed the idea for "The Beauty of Simplicity" for this April's monthly theme.

  1. Way to go, Karl! Congratulations on your longevity but more importantly on your commitment to superb photography showcasing your homeland!

Actually, it will probably be first on Facebook, or Twitter, or maybe you'll hear about it from the nice old guy next door. Whatever the case, if you have news to share, how about sharing it with us, so we can share it with everyone and actually make these pages useful?
